Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 during the Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci as she was only 6 years old. She first competed in the national junior championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She took the title in the year 1970. Her first ever international competition in 1972, she took the top spot by winning three gold awards. When she competed for the first time as a senior, in 1975 she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals and one silver. In 1976, she became the first person in the world who used a double backwards salto for a dismount off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She started her career in entertainment as a teenager in which she was a part of a figure skating duo with her twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer in her teens. Her first job was as a model skater with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
